How did you do it? Most importantly, what do you know now that you wish you knew then?

Hey Sabrina, it was a combination of a lot of factors.

I lived at home for a year during my placement year of university (my wage was fairly low though), I then after I graduated got a job straight away and stayed at home for a year and a half until February this year.

Since I moved out my strategy has been to build a personal brand online talking about things I love - saving, investing, my personal journey (i’m not an expert, it’s more just my experiences).

This allowed me to double my income within 1 year, start to get ‘paid to exist’ or rather monetise myself. When I was younger, I wish I understood that these things were possible a lot faster.

I spent so long hating myself, being a people pleaser, scared to put myself out there - that ultimately, I was delaying living my dream life.

Fast track to now, I can safely say I have everything I ever wanted and I think it was mostly a determination, a drive and discipline to see a longer term plan.

Wow your journey sounds a lot like my own. I hope that I’m able to find and take the right steps to get to a similar place you are at. Financial freedom is something that has always loomed over my head and stressed me out for as long as I remember. I’m only 22 and not a day goes by that I don’t stress about if I’m saving enough or doing enough. There’s a lot of information out there, but it’s overwhelming figuring out where to start. Thank you for your insight, It’s nice to see that it’s possible :)

Hey Sabrina, it’s so nice you can relate. Sorry to hear it’s stressing you out. You’re so young, there’s no need to be concerned. The fact that you care about it means you’re miles ahead of 90% of people your age. You’ll reach any goal you put your mind to and very excited for your journey. Remember to enjoy it because that’s the best part, the journey not the destination x
