I value quality fabric pieces and will invest in good basics. Jeans and cashmere are a couple of staples. I recently set myself a goal to make £500 from selling clothing items I no longer wear. As I’ve been uploading the fabric details I was shocked at how many of my ‘higher end / cost’ items were largely synthetic materials. Quite a revelation. I really enjoy your work. Thank you. I wish I’d known more and about money and investing when I was younger. It’s great to see more women talking about it.

"Build for your real life, not your fantasy self" applies to so much more than wardrobes. Purchases tend to get better when they're based on who we are, not who we imagine we'll become. ✨

This is exactly why I think wardrobe strategy matters more than individual purchases. A closet can be full of good pieces and still not work if it wasn't built around your actual routines, preferences, and lifestyle. Loved the emphasis on dressing for your real life rather than your fantasy self.

Need to start decluttering…

"Decluttering is a financial audit!" Girrllll!!!! This a thousand million %! I've worked in fashion. And I am a fan of sustainable, thrifted wardrobe-building. But I learned that first or second hand, clutter is costly. I do like the maths of use cost per wear, and this has helped me build my wardrobe with intention. Appreciate the nod to building a wardrobe around fluctuating weight. As someone whose body shape and weight has changed considerably in perimenopause, I am leaning towards feeling happy and comfortable in what I wear.

Curious to have your opinion: when re selling premium to luxury pieces excluding some key brands that would hold their values, because you havent worn them for a long time / you need some cash / to make storage space - and you might not even make 1/4 of their original prices - is it better to hold on to them even if you don’t wear them anymore bc you have spend a lot of $ on them?
