I was just recently thinking... "oh, I hope Mia talks about frugal holidays soon" haha! Last year was the first year I really planned for Christmas. I set money aside early in the year, started shopping in September, and finished by the first week of December. As a result, I had the best holiday season ever! No stress shopping, no financial concerns, and I spent the whole month of December doing the fun stuff - baking, slowly wrapping presents while watching movies, crafting cute little "just in case" presents like beeswax tapers with holly painted on them, hanging out with friends and family, and learning christmas jazz songs on piano. Cannot recommend this philosophy enough!

So true, it’s the endless drinks, dinners and catch ups before Christmas that does it for me!!

I begin heckling my family in the summer for their wishlists for Christmas. I love gifting, and I also love having the option to plan a budget, buy secondhand, and shop sales. Great post!

I love this, the second semester is always so full of birthdays, special dates etc. I would also add that many christmas gifts can be bought during black friday, doing this has helped me a lot in the past :)

Spot on! also, i would add that we should only give gifts when it genuinely feels right, rather than feeling pressured by unwritten rules

So on the same page about getting ahead for Christmas in September. I did this last year and Christmas was waaaaaay less stressful. And January didn’t become a giant game of catch up

Great advice we all overspend on unnecessary things at Christmas
