How frugally chic to reframe it from scarcity to abundance, which softens the decision fatigue and allows you to choose what TRULY aligns.

Oh! I love the “one in, one out” rule, it just makes so much sense snd makes decidions easier, also allows you not to overcrowd your space… that one will for sure be the one i’m adopting - thanks for sharing! ✨🧚🏼‍♀️

Love this advice so much! I could check my care label a little more before I buy to also make sure I'm preserving my items better.

I proudly don't buy myself a lot, but when I do splurge I realllly splurge (in my view of the term, anyway). I think I'm going to challenge myself to 'one purchase a month' and see how I get on!

Reading care labels are my new thing, i have been doing everytime i was considering a new item. I want to now if it is worth my money and i will get good use out of it.

I tried many of your rules, and while they might not always work for me, I think the main thing is to have a system in place to make decisions around purchases more manageable, and to buy the things that you really need, like and enjoy ❤️

How do you feel about the Issey Miyake pleats please garments that seem so nice but are 100% polyester?

This was a great read and I follow some of these rules myself. What especially struck me is the framing in the beginning, the 2010s minimalism never really having left us and the line "This is why I often get people saying, “You’re not really frugal,” or, “You’re not frugal anymore.”"

It makes me wonder - especially with social media - how much of minimalism and frugality is a performance rather than it just being something we implement in a way that fits into our lives. It almost gives "you are not really a vegan" like in the late 2010s, and identity.

You are much more enmeshed in social media than I am - do you find that there is pressure in the space/niche you occupy on social media to perform a certain type of frugality, and how so?

Yesss I can relate so much to the vibe of being so incredibly picky. Like I waited 5 months to buy a jumper because my standards were so high and now that I finally bought one that met my standards (like $150), it’s my absolute favourite and I wear it every single day (wearing it rn hehe) but I would never have appreciated it as much if I had just bought the first one that was satisfactory. Love your thoughts as always 💕

Your “one item per month” tip is soo chic. What do you mean I can’t walk into Marshalls and go crazy on a random Wednesday? Ugh* fine.

Great tips! Loved this read. I'm also trying the "one in, one out" rule and enjoying it so far.
