Excellent article. I'm currently on the journey of trying to replace my 9-5. I've been working for 6 years on corporate consulting...I'd love to change that. Thanks for the brilliant piece.

Great article! Thanks for writing this. I saved this back in 2025, found it now when I'm trying to become a regular writer (posted an article yesterday). This article was just the push I needed :)

I appreciate the acknowledgment that someone doesn't need to be a full-time creator to take advantage of the benefits it offers, but that being a creator & contributor of something uniquely yours changes the game.

This is such a great message for everyone, for me personally it felt like a pep talk as a new creator.

A powerful reminder of how much shifts when you move from a full-time consumer to a creator (and part-time consumer). And will definitley be using those tips at the end. :)

A great perspective, I’m glad I got to read it. I also just left my 9-5 to take a chance on myself but I wish I had done it sooner.

I understand where you are coming from, but there's a nuance to these conversations, and aligning everything as consumer/creator or leader/follower isn't accurate. As you get older, people value privacy and aren't in a cycle of needing more and more to keep competing, so to speak.

A person's well-being and peace of mind are far more valuable. The internet is nasty, and if you were to put your content out there, anonymous or not, warts and all, it will be torn down by someone. my point isnt that you dont have a point, its that its broader than this.

It's a compelling take, but it's a slice of a bigger conversation, especially the parts about privilege, systemic inequalities and differently-abled people. I encourage you to dive deeper into these lens' over the future of creation. enjoyed it!

Hey Chantelle, thank you for the critique. I definitely agree which is why I mentioned the mature model for example, her business is not creating content or writing publicly but her business is still a form of creation that sustains her. I tried to include it for this reason that it’s going to affect all ages. And you can create in private or reach customers or an audience directly. The part about being able bodied, totally agree, but what could be more democratised than getting your phone or laptop and writing, even dictating text. I would like to hear what alternative view you have on the future on wealth creation. Do you think people can build autonomy and wealth through consumption alone? I personally don’t think so. I sadly envision a future where it will become more unfair for people who do not create something (whatever that may be)

Oh yes! Definitely. I was more meaning around the concept of work. Giving value to the world can come in so many forms and it doesn't need to monetised. Agreed on the point about parenthood but the value exchange there is that you build unconditional love which is something money can't even buy. However, when an individual wants to increase their earning potential to fund things that matter to them which could be family or greater life experiences, they could look to sharing their knowledge with others to get paid for it. :) x
