What's next for me?
Frugal Chic® 71: upcoming projects, my EXACT net worth at 25, road to £1m goal update
They say, ‘Never let them know your next move.’ I agree to an extent. With business, a lot of things can’t be shared publicly, like trademarking, legal stuff, and unreleased work.
But at the same time, something that has always served me well is speaking things into existence. Holding myself accountable publicly has been one of my tactics for growing as a creator. Whether it was my original £100k goal, or even now, my goal to get to a £1m net worth by the end of 2027. Being honest with myself and those who follow me about what I want, how I plan to get there, and why, that’s part of why people like my content. They are on the journey with me.
Here at Frugal Chic, we care about slow consumption, investing, and our personal finances, but equally, if you are as mad about financial freedom as me, it’s likely you’ve pursued some kind of self-directed path, whether that’s freelancing, side hustles, building a personal brand, or just being more savvy at your 9-5.
For this reason, I share with you the deeper side behind my creator business, the parts I don’t show publicly. Because being Frugal Chic is not only about what you don’t buy, it’s what you do with your time and how you get to your goals.
Road to £1m
Why £1m as my major financial goal? I’ve explained it so many times you’re probably sick of hearing about it. Well, it originally started because it was my FIRE number. I multiplied my annual expenses by 25 (because of the 4% rule) read here.
Although the criticism is that £1m won’t be enough to live off forever, it misses the point. I won’t be retired, I’ll be work optional. I’m working towards Barista FIRE, which is when you have enough to tide you over in terms of basic living costs: rent/mortgage, bills, and food.
So currently i’m sitting at :
£125,876 in my ISA and GIA
