The best thing I ever did was organise my wardrobe so when something goes back in after being washed/worn, it goes on the right hand side. It typically makes me pick from the left and spice up my outfits, but it also highlights what hasn't moved in months. My summer sort out was super easy, because there were about five pieces that hadn't budged!
I love the idea of shifting our mindset from "this is a fall color" to "this is MY color". I also am a huge believer in not doing overhauls for a new wardrobe all the time! I personally switch mine out every 3-4 years.
Every season I do some thing. Every piece I wear i put on a colored hanger. By the end of the season, the ones that dont have a colored hanger go bye bye. Now my closet is smaller but I wear everything I own
I am soooo frugal about cost-per-wear. The 100% wool coat for $400, worn for 8 years, is cheaper than a $100 coat you replace every year, because you're both freezing and fashion changes, and it's the girls' math I will always stand by.

The Boots theory but in a time where many of us have a choice, we just require the patience to actually save for the piece in amongst the noise
Definitely saving this when I get to my autumn clothes shop, thank you for such an insight!!
